Everything stops, or almost, to see the match especially during the SEA Games which Vietnam is hosting this year and whose National Team is the favorite. Imagine…if you don’t watch the game and stay home…just open your windows to see the score…the enthusiasm of the fans is audible in the city…it’s almost as if you participated in it at the stadium!!! Thousands have presented at the walking street from 6 p.m., one hour before the game. Five large LCD screens were installed in this area to serve the fans.
In the first half, fans were hoping for a goal but Vietnam couldn’t score despite having many chances.
Three kids stood under the raincoat of their father to watch the game on the screen.
The atmosphere were getting intense mid-second half when Vietnam still couldn’t find a goal.
The street nearly exploded when captain Do Hung Dung scored for Vietnam. That was also the only goal of the game.
“I nearly cried when Vietnam opened the score,” Hong said.
Tu Chi, 19 and her friend were extremely excited after the goal.
A group of fans in red shirts turned up the atmosphere of the walking street with drums, flags and banners.
Thuc, 23 and his friend celebrated when Vietnam scored and won 1-0. The win put Vietnam to the top of group A with 7 points after three games.
“The team were struggling against the opponent’s defensive play in the first half. But us fans still believe in a win for the team and they players didn’t let us down,” Thuc said.
