Two photographs of daily life in Vietnam won first prizes in different categories at the 35 AWARDS 2021 international photo contest. Many other entries received top 100 mentions.

The photo of a flower vendor riding her bicycle laden with fresh flowers going past Hanoi’s Ceramic Road was snapped just as she crossed an artwork of blooms streaming upwards, creating a continuity of reality merging with the abstract.
The photograph by Nguyen Phuc Thanh won first prize in the Daily Life category of the annual 35AWARDS 2021, an international event created in 2015 by the professional photo community 35photo.pro.
This year’s contest attracted 124,800 photographers from 174 countries and territories around the world competing in different categories such as aerial photography, daily life, mobile photography, black and white, and child portrait.

The shot of a farmer feeding his ducks in the Tra O Lagoon, Binh Dinh Province, in south central Vietnam won first prize in the motion category. This was taken by Cao Ky Nhan.

Nguyen Tan Tuan’s panoramic shot of the undulating Long Coc tea hills in the northern Phu Tho Province in early morning mist was one of 100 best shots in the aerial photography category.

Nguyen Van Luan’s image of women wearing conical hats non la drying colorful sedge threads in a yard in Cao Lanh District in the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap was voted one of 100 best shots in the aerial photography category.

This sunset capture of a man crossing a stream carrying bamboo fishing baskets on his shoulder and crossing a stream was taken at the Thung Mountain by Hanoi-based Cao Quoc Tuan. It was also chosen as one of 100 best photos in the daily life category.
Tuan said he took the photo during a trip to Cao Bang Province along the China border during the rice harvest season in September.

Also selected as one of 100 best shots in the daily life category is this shot of a woman on a small boat with her pet dog, harvesting water lilies in Chau Thanh District, Tay Ninh Province that borders HCMC.
“The water lilies usually bloom from September to December every year and local women improve their incomes by picking them from flooded fields; and these images have long become a typical symbol of this idyllic countryside,” said photographer Cao Ky Nhan.

Huynh Thai Bao’s photograph of two women in conical hats working at a handicraft workshop making water hyacinth products in the south central province of Phu Yen was also honored in the daily life category.

Photographer Nguyen Gia Bao, a native of the northern Ha Nam Province, captures the beauty of his hometown at sunset.
The photo of local farmer walking home with his herd of goats in Thanh Liem District was also a top 100 daily life selection.

Tran Ngoc Anh’s image of a boatman carrying a female visitor on Tuyen Lam Lake in the Central Highlands resort town of Da Lat surrounded by hollong trees was named one of 100 best shots in the landscape category.

This image of fishermen starting their new day at the Tan Thanh beach in Go Cong Town, Tien Giang Province in the Mekong Delta was one of 100 best in the mobile photography category.

“After staying up all night hunting photos of the Milky Way, I was fortunate to see a beautiful sky at dawn. Seeing fishermen pull out their nets to catch seafood on the beach, I took out my phone just in time to capture such a memorable moment,” said Dzung Tran, who took the photo in April 2021.
