Last year the resort was voted as the world’s most romantic by U.S. magazine National Geographic.

Mango Bay Resort

Set amidst 20 hectares of natural forest in Cua Duong Commune on Phu Quoc Island, the Mango Bay Resort has been named one of 14 most beautiful jungle hotels in the world by U.S. magazine Travel+Leisure.

This is an unusually low density resort with only 40 bungalows with wooden interiors and straw roofs.

The resort uses locally-made four-poster beds, wooden furniture, overhead fans, and cotton mosquito nets.

At first sight, the bungalows look like traditional houses in Vietnamese countryside with interiors mainly made of wood.

They are not equipped with air-conditioning, TV or telephones, like other accommodations on the island. Instead, guests can enjoy natural air circulation and use ceiling fans to cool down.

Most machines and equipment inside the resort are environmentally-friendly, with the use of solar power, energy efficient appliances and low wattage light bulbs.

The resort offers guests a range of sporting activities like kayaking, fishing and snorkeling. Visiting the Nha Phu Bay in wooden boats is a special feature here.

The forested hills surrounding the isolated bay are inaccessible by road and therefore protected from poaching and habitat encroachment by farming and other development.

These hills are home to the endangered black-shanked douc langurs.
